
Adam Ruderman, president of Decatur Firefighters of Illinois Local 505 announced he will run for a seat on the Decatur city council. Ruderman is a lieutenant on the Decatur Fire Department and has been a Decatur fire fighter for 13 years. Ruderman has been president of the local for 4 years, and led the union in it's recent successful contract bargaining that lasted for almost three years. Rudy served in the Army and Army Reserve. He has a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University and is married with two children. Issues of concern for Ruderman are safe roads, affordable utilities and access to health care and quality education. Rudy's priorities will be utilizing resources effectively,and remaining approachable, accessible and responsive to residents needs. He plans to run his campaign on a modest budget, believing his success in the election will be based on his record in the community. The election is April 7. |
