The pump tests for DFD apparatus were performed by Lt. Brian Lockwood in late August. Note the guage readings for the vacuum test and the 150 psi pressure test. Back in the day, the pump tests were done down at the breakwater on the lake by individual crews. Today the testing can be more standardized and done more quickly with Lockwood Testing Service. Ask Chief Lockwood how he started the business, which does testing throughout Illinois and in Indiana. |

Notice to Local 505 members : I have 3 precinct walks scheduled for the upcoming weeks for our AFFI endorsed candidates. Walk for Senator Kyle McCarter on Saturday Sept. 25. Meet at the Pilot Gas Station at Rt 48 & I 72 at 9:00 a.m. We are going to distribute door hangers in The Meadowlark Addition, and the Oreana area, and will go no longer than 12 noon. Walks for Rep. Bob Flider on Saturday Oct. 2 and 16. Meet at the campaign office at 134 S. Main St. These will also begin at 9:00 a.m. and last no longer than 12 noon. We'll walk any area they ask us to cover. Also, we have been working on getting out yard signs for both campaigns in the past 2 weeks. Anyone interested in helping in this most important political endeavor, and contributing to elect these firefighter friendly candidates can call me at 521-5802.
