E3 Rescues Baby From House Fire 10/12/10
E3 arrived on the scene of a small one story house at 1616 W. Garfield at about 1:00 am Tuesday, October 12th. The house was filled with smoke, with a small child in a room at the front of the house. E3's crew, Cpt McKenzie, Lt Ruderman, FF McElroy (not pictured) and FF Cox found out there was a baby still in the house and went to the window and started a VES operation. McElroy was the driver/pump operator, and Cox drug a line. Cpt McKenzie busted out the thick paned glass, and helped Lt Ruderman in through the window. Ruderman searched and found the child, and then found his way back to McKenzie's light and voice at the window. McKenzie then ran the baby to Lt Allen who had the EMS gear. Allen performed mouth to mouth on the baby who is reportedly doing fine, after having a high CO concentration in his blood after the fire. |
